Fifteen SoWashCo Schools students were selected for the Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State music ensemble for the 2022-23 season. These students were selected amongst hundreds of high school students around the state. This is one of the highest achievements for a high school musician.
Meals are available to students in grades 6-12 for this Friday’s flexible learning day. Families can pick up two free meals (one breakfast and one lunch) for their child in middle or high school from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13 at the East Ridge High School activities entrance or the Park High School main entrance.
Four South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) students were selected to perform in the Minnesota Band Directors Association All-State Honor Band on Sunday, April 10.
Two students are from Woodbury High School and two students are from Woodbury Middle School. Woodbury High School students include Daelynn Wygle (flute) and Owen Rodgers (trombone), Woodbury Middle School students include William MacDonald (trumpet) and Olivia Wirtz-Diedrich (flute).
South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) is excited to announce this year’s Athena Award winners. The award recognizes young women for their excellence and achievements in athletics and academics. Presented by the St. Paul Athena Awards Program, this recognition is named after the goddess of wisdom and skills, Athena.
Representing SoWashCo Schools is Maddie Poor from East Ridge High School, Megan Maloney from Park High School and Carley Tuman from Woodbury High School.

Select students in grade 12 have been invited to take the Seal of Biliteracy test on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at their school.
The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given upon high school graduation to students who show proficiency in an eligible language other than English.
SoWashCo Online is offering several virtual information nights for families of students in grades 9-12 for the 2022-23 school year.
SoWashCo Schools Black Student Union members hosted Black Joy, an event celebrating Black History Month.
Students showcased performances, traditional fashions and there was even food provided by local Black-owned businesses.
