Keep Our School Communities Healthy

Keep Our School Communities Healthy
  • 2023-24

During the winter months, we see an increase of students experiencing symptoms of illness including fever, cough and sore throat.

If your student  is feeling ill, we request they remain at home until they are well enough to return to school. If your student  has a temperature above 100 degrees, is vomiting or is not well enough to participate in school, please keep your student home and seek the advice of a healthcare professional as needed.

Students may return to school when:

  • The student has been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications

  • At least 24 hours have passed since their last episode of vomiting or diarrhea

  • The student feels well enough to participate in class

We continue to keep our classrooms, buildings and shared spaces clean to help reduce the spread of illness.

We ask your family to practice the following safety protocols:

  • Wear a face covering for 10 days following an exposure to COVID-19 (recommended)

  • Frequent handwashing with soap and water

  • Cover coughs and sneezes; do not touch your face with unwashed hands

  • Stay home from school, child care, sports and other activities if you are feeling ill

If you have questions regarding your student’s health or the district’s illness protocols, please contact your school health office. Our priority remains the health and safety of students and staff.

Thank you for your help in keeping our school community healthy.
