South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) and the United Teachers of South Washington County (UTSWC) met for their 11th public negotiation session on Nov. 9.

Open items were reviewed. UTSWC presented one new proposal at the meeting. The district brought a counter to the economic proposal that was presented to by the union on Aug. 23, 2023.  The district had previously stated that an economic counter would not be provided until all proposals had been presented. 

Following the presentations, each group caucused by meeting in separate rooms to discuss the economic proposal. The groups returned and had additional conversations regarding the economic proposals and priorities of the union. The union withdrew one open language proposal. The union stated they would send the district their financial counter prior to the next session.

The next negotiation session between SoWashCo Schools and UTSWC is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 15.
