Students and Community Members Celebrate Black History Month with Black Joy Event

SoWashCo Schools Black Student Union members hosted Black Joy, an event celebrating Black History Month.
Students showcased performances, traditional fashions and there was even food provided by local Black-owned businesses.
Members of South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) Black Student Unions hosted the Black History Month Celebration: Black Joy during the last week of February.
Students invited the entire SoWashCo Schools community to partake in the celebrations on Thursday, Feb. 24.
The event showcased Black joy through the decades with student-led stations for guests to visit including traditional dances, fashion, musical performances, artwork and food that was provided by local Black-owned restaurants.
